Made this work during CGMA class "Sculpting Anatomy: From Animal to Creature".
During this study I gained a lot of in-depth knowledge about animal anatomy in general. Especially the valuable information of how the bone and muscle joints connect to give the overall silhouette of the animal and to understand movement.
The book, Animal Anatomy for artists helped a lot in terms of references.
